Langtang Valley trek

Langtang Valley Trek is a 7-day (76 kilometres) thrilling journey in Langtang National Park (1976) with 1710 sq km of land to the Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchok districts. Nepal's pleasant Langtang tea house trip begins and completes in Syabrubesi with an 8-hour bus trip from Kathmandu. The trekking required a daily 5-6 hours walk with the national park permit and TIMS card. Trekkers explore Buddhist culture, Tamang lifestyle, dress, ornament, food habits, plants, wildlife and tremendous snowcapped mountain views. The friendly Tamang people, beautiful river valleys, serenity and beautiful landscapes with remarkable cliffs make the trekking more exciting. 

Langtang Valley Trek traversed Lama Hotel, Langtang village, Ghoda Tabala, Kyanjin Gompa with a spectacular Himalayan vista, Langtang Lirung (7245 m), Langtang Ri (7205 m), Naya Khang (5844 m), Yala Peak (5520 m). Langtang National Park is rich in floral and faunal varieties, such as rhododendron orchid flower, Chirpine, hemlock, oak, rhesus monkey, common langur, snow leopard, musk deer, serow, goral, Himalayan black bear, Himalayan Tahr, muntjac, pika, red panda, blue sheep. The park found 373 species of birds, such as Impeyan pheasants and tragopan. Tourists experience the monastery, cheese factory, herds of yak, and sheep. A private helicopter tour is suggested for limited-time tourists from Kathmandu to Kyanjin Gompa (3850 m). 

Trekkers join an exciting 2-3 hours side trip to Kyanjin Ri (4773 m) and 5-6-hour trip to Tsergo Ri (4983 m). The devasting earthquake in 2015 damaged the Langtang Village. The village is renovated now. Contact us for the trek booking with guide porter cost. The day-to-day itinerary is below.  

Day 01: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1430 m) - 8 hours by bus

Day 02: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2380 m) - 5/6 hours

Day 03: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3420 m) - 5/6 hours

Day 04: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3850 m) - 3/4 hours

Day 05: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2470 m) - 6/7 hours

Day 06: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi (1430 m) - 5/6 hours

Day 07: Syabrubesi to Kathmandu (1350 m) - 8 hours by bus

Day 01: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1430 m) - 8 hours by bus
Kathmandu to Syabrubesi is a 118 km distant bus that takes a minimum of 8 hours and the Jeep takes 5 hours. Local buses are available in the morning. Kathmandu to Galchhi is 50 km and Galchhi to Syaprubesi is 68 km distance (Syabrubesi to Rasuwagadhi is 16 km distance). Here are a few hotels with a power line. The view of Langtang Himal and Bhote Kosi valley is good from here. Dhunche to Syabrubesi is a 19 km road. Stay at a lodge in Syabrubesi.

Day 02: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2380 m) - 5/6 hours
After breakfast walk, a few then cross the Bhote Kosi. Climb an uphill to Dovan (1640 m) in two hours. Dovan to Pairo (1675 m) takes 50 minutes with two tea shops. The Pairo to Bamboo (1960 m) takes one hour. Monkey, red panda, and Himalayan black bear are recorded in this forest. Here are three hotels. Bambo to Rimche (2390 m) takes 1:15 hours. Day 03: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3420 m) - 5/6 hours
Lama Hotel to Gumnachowk (trekkers corner, 2760 m) takes 1:15 hours. Continue to Ghoda Tabela (3020 m) takes 1:20 hours. See a view of Langtang Himal. Here are two hotels and an Army post. Ghoda Tabela to Thang Shyap (3160 m) village hike 45 minutes. Climb to Langtang Village in 1:30 hours. Here is a village with a hotel and a power line.

Day 04: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3850 m) - 3/4 hours
The walk continues uphill from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa takes 3 hours without rest. This is a nice valley with a view of snow-capped mountains. Here are a few hotels, a cheese factory, and a monastery. In summer, different wildflower blooms here.

Day 05: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2470 m) - 6/7 hours
Kyanjin Gompa to Langtang Village takes 2:00 hours to return. Descend to Ghoda Tabela (3020 m) in 2:10 hours. Here are two hotels. Climb downhill through the lush forest to reach Lama Hotel in 2:00 hours. Stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 06: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi (1430 m) - 5/6 hours
Climb downhill to Bamboo (1960 m) in 1:35 hours. Here are three hotels. Walk down through a forest to Pairo (1675 m) in one hour. Climb downhill to Dovan (1640 m) in 40 minutes. Continue downhill to Syabrubesi (1430 m) in 1:15 hours. Cross few suspension bridges over Langtang Khola and Bhote Kosi River. Here are several lodges with electricity. Stay overnight there.

Day 07: Syabrubesi to Kathmandu (1350 m) - 8 hours by bus
The bus leaves for Kathmandu in the morning that takes 8 hours with its 118 km of road. The bus goes through town, village, terraced fields. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
