On 7 October 2000, at 7 am, the Slovenian ski instructor, Davo Karnicar, 38 years became the first person to ski non-stop down the steep slopes of Mount Everest. The man took 4:30 hours to ski from Mount Everest 8,848.86 meters to the base camp 5,364 meters. The man followed Hillary Step, Lhotse Face, and Khumbu Icefall.
