Sikles trek

Sikles trek is an exciting six-day journey of the Annapurna region to explore the typical Gurung village, mountain views, terraced fields. Kalikasthan village starts the trekking after 6 hours car trip from Kathmandu. The second-largest Gurung village Sikles is fascinating with its culture, unwritten language, animal husbandry, rural lifestyle. Different species of rhododendron bloom in spring along the hiking route. Trekkers reached a maximum height of 2600 meters at Jhakarphulan. Annapurna Conservation Area Project developed the beautiful trekking route in Hilly Region Nepal. 

Sikles trek is popular to witness the snow-capped mountains, Annapurna II (7939 m), Annapurna IV (7525 m) and Fishtail (6993 m). Participants enjoy the views of beautiful lakes, Begnas, Rupa, Khaste, Maide. This journey across terraced fields, villages, a forest of rhododendron with broad-leaf plants. Gurung civilization is impressive with agriculture farming. Gurung youth recruits the English army from the town. 

Sikles trek is an opportunity to visit Gurung and a natural history museum. Every tourist enjoys warm hospitality and local dance after dinner. Sometimes spiritual and traditional dance, Ghantu dance can observe there. Trekkers can involve a honey hunting tour with locals at a harvesting time. The trekking route goes along with the Bijayapur Khola, Bhung Khola, and Seti River. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Meet at the Kathmandu airport, transfer to the hotel. Stay with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu - 6 hours
Professional Tour Guide with driver come to pick you up at 9 am at the hotel. The guide explains the history, education, caste system of Nepal. Today you visit the 4 UNESCO world heritage sites. Swayambhunath (1st century) is the oldest Buddhist Stupa with an activity of Assamese monkey, panoramic view of Kathmandu valley, the Himalaya. Kathmandu Durbar Square (8th to 18th century) is a royal palace square that offers to visit the museum, Kasthamandap, the Living Goddess Kumari, Freak Street, wood carving with temple architecture. Pashupatinath Temple (5th century) is famous for the cremation ghat, Shiva Lingam with Yoni shrines, the Hindu holy men (Sadhus), Assamese monkey, and deer in the sub-tropical forest. Boudhanath (5th century) is famous for the largest Stupa in Nepal, Tibetan refugee settlement, painting school, prayer wheel, prayer flag and monastery with monks.

Day 03: Drive to Kalikasthan - 6/7 hours
We drive from Kathmandu to Kalikasthan with views of snow-capped mountains, Trishuli River valley, cable car station, Marsyangdi River valley, highway towns, terraced fields, villages, domestic animals and forest. Kathmandu to Malekhu is 72 km, Malekhu to Kurintar is 32 km distance with cable car station to Manakamana. Kurintar to Mughling is 6 km, which splits road to Chitwan and Lumbini. Mugling to Abukhaireni is 6 km, another road splits to Gorkha Durbar. Abukhaireni to Dumre is 17 km, which leaves a road to Besishahar. Dumre to Damauli is 16 km. Damauli to Kalikasthan is 50 km. Stay overnight there.

Day 04: Kalikasthan to Lamakhet (1680 m) - 4/5 hours
We walk through a village of caste and ethnic groups enjoying terraced fields towards Mardi Khola. The hiking continues along with the riverbank, Bhaise and Nawaldanda to Lamakhet. This village is pretty with surrounding green hills. Stay overnight there.

Day 05: Lamakhet to Sikles (1980 m) - 4/5 hours
Today we have a flat trail with the riverbank hiking. We walk Khilagaon on an uphill path. We hike to Parju village, then require an uphill path to reach Sikles village. The second-largest Gurung village in Nepal is the home of Gurkha, traditional dance, culture, lifestyle and custom. Stay overnight there.

Day 06: Sikles to Nyaulikharka (2200 m) - 4/5 hours
We walk along with a forest of the rhododendron, a broad-leaf tree. The hiking goes uphill trail. We also walk flat land to a forest camp called Nyaulikharka. Stay overnight there.

Day 07: Nyaulikharka to Ghalegaun (2000 m) - 5 hours
The hike passes a forest of rhododendron and oak. The trail goes to Jhakarphulan Pass (2600 m) then descend to Ghalegaon. This small village is beautiful with Magar and Gurung people. Stay overnight there.

Day 08: Ghalegaun to Pokhara (830 m) - 3/4 hours
We walk through a forest with uphills and downhills paths to Bhujungkhola Bridge and Tallakot. The hiking goes along Seti riverbank with a view of Fishtail. We cross a suspension bridge over Sardikhola, Mardikhola and reach the Hemja village. We take 20 minutes bus ride to Pokhara. Stay overnight at a hotel in Pokhara

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu 1350m - 7 hours
Kathmandu lies 204 km east of Pokhara. The tourist bus takes 7 hours with a day trip.

Day 10: Airport Departure
It takes 25 minutes to drive.
