Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek is the 21-day classic trip from Jiri (1905 m) to EBC with an eight-hour bus tour from Kathmandu. The most popular trekking route meets beautiful river valleys, picturesque villages, suspension bridges, and diverse landscapes. Three weeks teahouse journey in the Everest region is worth views of Makalu (8463 m), Lhotse (8516 m), and Mount Everest (8848 m). The trip destination is Everest Base Camp (5364 m) and Kala Patthar (5545 m) experience views of countless mountains, Pumori, Everest, Lhotse, and Khumbu Glacier (11.1 km) and Khumbu Ice Falls, Pinnacles, Amadablam, Kantega, Thamserku. 

Jiri to EBC Trek followed each step of Himalayan pioneers Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. Trekkers suggested pre-training, physically and mentally fit for the delightful journey. Jiri to the base camp measured 115 miles zigzag, gravel, uphill, downhill, curving paths complete at Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla. Everyday travellers take a new experience by visiting impressive landscapes and picturesque villages, crossing 25 suspension bridges towards Everest Base Camp. Tourists interact with Sherpa, Rai, and Limbu people. Solukhumbu celebrates annual mountain festivals, Mani Rimdu, Lhosar, and Dumji. Trekkers take overnight camps above 4000 meters at Pangboche, Dingboche, Laboche, and Gorakshep villages. September to December and March to May refer to the best trek journey. 

Jiri to Kala Patthar Trekking explores snow-capped mountains, Lamjura Pass, river valleys, ethnic dress, food habits, Buddhist culture, Sherpa people, flora and fauna in a UNESCO heritage site, Sagarmatha National Park, the highest airport, Syangboche (3720 m), Sherpa museum, Namche Bazaar. The journey required a trekking permit, a TIMS card, travel insurance, and a professional guide. Trekkers luck can spot snow leopard, yak, Dzopkyok, yeti, musk deer, Himalayan Tahr, and black bear. Day 22: Departure to Kathmandu Airport

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1337 m)
We meet at Tribhuvan International Airport with our guide and transfer to the hotel for the 25-minute drive. After the hotel, we inform the trekking program. Stay overnight at a hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Jiri (1905 m) - 8/9 hours by bus
Jiri is 190 km (118 miles) east of Kathmandu. Local buses are available at the old bus park in Kathmandu. The bus journey is pleasant with views of a river valley, countryside and highway towns. Kathmandu to Lamosangu is 79 km, and Lamosangu to Charikot is 54 km. Charikot to Jiri is 57 km. Jiri is a town with several lodges with electricity.

Day 03: Jiri to Shivalaya (1767m) - 4/5 hours
Hike from Jiri to a ridge top (2370 m) takes 1:30 hours with views of green hill and village. Trek to Shivalaya in 2 hours. Shivalaya lays Khimti Riverbank with few hotels with electricity. Local river fish are sold there.

Day 04: Shivalaya to Bhandar (2194 m) - 4/5 hours
Shivalaya to Sangbadanda (2170 m) is a 1:45-hour trail with an uphill. Hike 1:50 hours to reach Deurali (2705 m) with hotels. Deurali to Bhandar offers a downhill with 1:10 hours. Here are a few hotels with power lines. Terraced fields are beautiful here.

Day 05: Bhandar to Sete (2575 m) - 6/7 hours
Bhandar to Kenja (1600 m) is a 2:45-hour walk with views of the river and village. Kenja lies on the riverbank with hotels. Take a lunch and hike 3 hours uphill to Sete. Here are hotels and good views of the river valley.

Day 06: Sete to Junbesi (2675 m) - 6/7 hours
Sete to Dakchu (2800 m) is an hour uphill hike. Dakchu to Goyom (3300 m) offers an hour uphill. Goyom to Lamjura Pass (3530 m) reaches in 2 hours with beautiful mountain views. Lamjura Pass to Traktor (2860 m) can be reached in 1:30 hours with a downhill path. Traktor to Junbesi is an hour's walk with flat and downhill trails. Here are hotels, monasteries, and electricity.

Day 07: Junbesi to Nuntala (2250 m) - 6/7 hours
Junbesi to Salung (2953 m) can reach in 1:50 hours. There is a forest of blue pine, rhododendron, and oak. Mount Everest can be seen here Salung to Ringmo (2700 m) is a 1:30 hours trail with downhill and uphill. Here are a few hotels for lunch. Ringmo to Trakshindo pass (3071 m) is 45 minutes uphill. Trakshindo's Pass to Nuntala is 1:30 hours downhill through the village of late Babu Chiri with a monastery. Here are hotels with power.

Day 08: Nunthala to Kharikhola (2050 m) - 5/6 hours
Nunthala to Dudh Kosi Bridge (1480 m) takes a 1:30-hour downhill walk. Dudh Kosi Bridge to Jubing (1680 m) is 40 minutes uphill. Jubing to Kharikhola is a 1:30-hour uphill walk. Sherpa, Rai and Magar people live in the village. Here are hotels with electricity.

Day 09: Khari Khola to Poyan (2800 m) - 5/6 hours
Khari Khola to Bupsa (2300 m) uphill takes one hour. Bupsa to Poyan offers uphill and downhill walks for 3:15 hours. There are hotels with forest views.

Day 10: Poyan to Phakding (2652 m) - 5/6 hours
Poyan to Surkhe (2290 m) is 2 hours downhill uphill trail. Surkhe to Choplung (2690 m) offers an hour uphill walk. Choplung to Phakding is a 1:30-hour downhill uphill trek. Here are several hotels with power.

Day 11: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3441 m) - 5/6 hours
Phakding to Benkar (2700 m) is one hour uphill walk. Benkar to Monjo (2800 m) is 40 minutes uphill. There is a suspension bridge over the Dud Kosi River. Monjo to Jorsalle (2810 m) is 35 minutes uphill. Here is the Sagarmatha National Park office with a few teashops. Check trek permit at the national park, and walk to Namche Bazaar in 2:40 hours with an uphill trail. The hiking trail crosses bridges, pine forests, and Mt. Everest views. Namche Bazaar established numerous hotels with electricity, a bank, internet, an army post, museum. The Sherpa town is the gateway to Everest base camp.

Day 12: Rest day in Namche Bazaar
Visit Khumjung village (3790 m) at 1:30 hours through the Sanghboche airport (3720 m). There is an Everest view hotel (3880 m) on a ridge at 3880 m. Enjoy views of Dudh Kosi Valley, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Taboche, and Everest. Acclimatize your body by climbing high and sleeping low.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860 m) - 5/6 hours
Namche Bazaar to Pungi Tanga (3250 m) is 2:45 hours uphill and downhill with views of River Valley, Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam. After a hot lunch, cross a bridge over the Dudh Kosi River, then hike 2 hours uphill to Tengboche. There is a Buddhist Monastery, hotels, and a panoramic view of Mount Everest.

Day 14: Tengboche to Dingboche (4400 m) - 5/6 hours
Tengboche to Pangboche (3900 m) takes 1:30 hours uphill walking. Here are seven hotels. The view of Amadablam (6856 m) is impressive. Here is a separate trail to go to Amadablam Base Camp that takes 3:20 hours uphill. Pangboche to Dingboche takes 2:40 hours uphill walking. Here are many hotels. The valley is more comfortable than Pheriche (4250 m).

Day 15: Rest day in Dingboche
Take a rest to acclimatize your body. Climb to Narsingha Hill (5000 m) for good views of the valley and mountain peaks including Mt Makalu (8163 m). Chhukung (4730 m) is 2:30 hours uphill from Dingboche. Here are two hotels. Chukung Ri is a viewpoint of the Island Peak.

Day 16: Dingboche to Lobuche (4930 m) - 4/5 hours
Dingboche to Dugla (4620 m) reaches in 1:45 hours with an uphill trail. Dugla to Lobuche takes 1:35 hours with an uphill trail. There are six lodges. The sunset view of Nuptse will be exciting on a clear day.

Day 17 : Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364 m) via Gorakshep (5180 m) - 6/7 hours
Lobuche to Gorakshep is 2:40 hours uphill. Here are five hotels with views of Everest, Pumori, and Nuptse. Gorakshep to Everest base camp is a 2:30-hour trail. Enjoy ice pinnacles and Khumbu glaciers with mountain peaks. Mt. Everest cannot be seen from its base camp. Hike back to Gorakshep in 1:40 hours.

Day 18: Gorakshep to Pheriche (4250 m) - 7/8 hours
Gorakshep to Kalapathar (5545 m) is 2:15 hours uphill. Kalapathar has a panoramic view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Basecamp, and Khumbu Glaciers. There is chilly cold, wear proper clothes with a warm cap and gloves. Climb back to Gorakshep in 1:15 hours. Gorakshep to Lobuche takes 1:30 hours on a downhill path. Lobuche to Pheriche is 2:35 hours downhill.

Day 19: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3441 m) - 7/8 hours
Hike from Pheriche to Pangboche for 1:50 hours with a downhill path. Descend from Pangboche to Tengboche in 1:25 hours. Tengboche to Pungithanga takes 1:15 hours to descend. Pungi Tanga to Namche Bazaar takes 3 hours with uphill and downhill walks.

Day 20: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2860m) - 7/8 hours
The trail descends from Namche Bazaar to Jorsalle in 1:45 hours. Jorsalle to Phakding is a 2:50-hour downhill path. Phakding to Lukla reaches in 2:45 hours uphill. Reconfirm your next morning flight ticket to Kathmandu. Lukla established several hotels.

Day 21: Lukla to Kathmandu (1350 m) - 30 minutes by flight
Wake up early for a hot breakfast and walk 10 minutes to the airport. Fly Kathmandu with views of mountains, villages, river valleys, and Kathmandu city. Transfer 25 minutes to the hotel. Check-in the hotel and take a rest. Stay overnight with a bed and breakfast.

Day 22: Departure to Kathmandu Airport
Take 25 minutes to drive to the airport 3 hours before the flight departure. We wish you a safe and happy flight.
