Hikers along the route glimpse alluring views of Bhaktapur, green hills and snow-capped mountains. Changunarayan to Telkot takes a 1:15-hour walk on a gravel road. The uphill hike from Telkot to Nagarkot meets the village, Jalpa Devi Temple and Peace Buddha Park. The peaceful trail and fresh air will be pleasant.
Nagarkot is Tamang and Newar village, 32 km northeast of Kathmandu Valley. There are 35 tourist-standard hotels with restaurants. The bus stop to Nagarkot tower (2175 m) is 4 km away with a view of mountains, sunrise, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu Valley. Participants can stay overnight in Nagarkot or return to Kathmandu (2 hours drive). An alternate downhill hike from Nagarkot to Changu Narayan takes 3:30 hours.
