Makalu climb is interesting with the fifth highest mountain (8463 m) in the world located in the northeastern of Nepal. The mountain is known as Khabalung with a little pink colour. It has two subsidiary peaks, including Kanchungtse (7678 m) and Chomo Lonzo. French Expedition, led by Jean Franco first climbed the mountain on May 15, 1955. Makalu climb is a part of the Greater Himalaya that lies in the Kumba Karna Himal. The mountain mapped and photographed at first by the British Everest reconnaissance in 1921 from the Tibet part. The first Nepalese Ang Chepal Sherpa climbed the mountain on May 1, 1978. It is considered one of the toughest mountains to climb. Before the climbing, enjoy the Makalu Barun National Park that is the home of 48 species of orchids, 25 species of rhododendron, 87 species of medicinal plants and 421 species of birds. The endangered wildlife includes wild yak, red panda, snow leopard, clouded leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, goral, wild boar, tahr, Himalayan marmot, langur monkey, weasel, and serow.
Makalu climb offers the views of Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Everest and Cho Oyo. The first attempt was in 1954 by a US team. The French, English, Japanese, Czechoslovakian and Spanish Expedition group were conquered the mountain on different dates. It is a remote region of Nepal near the border of China (Tibet).
